Mr.Muhammad Iqbal efforts for Thalassaemia recognized by Govt. of Pakistan and awarded him for his great work on Thalassaemia prevention and treatment.
One of the notable achievements of KITCC is that it developed the infusion pump, which is the life-line of such patients, locally in Pakistan in 1999.
The pump was not available locally and importing it from abroad was not an option for most of the patients due to its heavy financial cost (it then cost about Rs. 90,000/-).
KITCC developed this pump locally at a mere cost of Rs. 4,000/- The pump has all the features of the imported pump plus additional features have been added considering the patients need. It was inspected and has been given fitness certificate from Agha Khan Hospital.
So far thousands of patients have benefited from this pump and KITCC has distributed most of the pumps free of cost.
More achievements will be updated shortly.
